This project is comprised of a dramatic 950-foot tower and a large retail and recreation complex on a full city block in a growing urban district.<\/span><\/p>\n Rising as an icon on the skyline, the tower represents a torch, its design inspired by ancient watchtowers. Its top is crowned by CEO apartments, a roof garden,<\/i> sky restaurants, and an observatory overlooking the city. An open area of public plazas and sunken gardens \u2013 flanked by indoor and outdoor shopping \u2013 leads from the Southwest corner to the Northwest tower. A Green Zone undulates between the street retail and the shopping mall and includes interactive water features, gardens, places to rest and relax, as well as vendors\u2019 kiosks. Diagonal to the Green Zone is a sunken garden for gatherings and performances. The design positions the residential towers to the north end and the 19-story office tower at the south edge. The key design gesture is a structure akin to a wooden puzzle box, which features a jewel-like curvilinear interior that draws visitors deep within the space. Set at the southeast corner of the project, this design represents the development\u2019s brand identity, using the play between solid and void to reconcile the new architecture with the existing density. Though there is great emphasis on the southeast corner, the public\u2019s view is on the east fa\u00e7ade.
