Laguarda.Low Architects is seeking candidates for a Business Development position to grow new opportunities in the city of New York, the Northeast region, and the United States at large. This is an excellent opportunity to promote and be a part of a dynamic, collaborative architectural studio. Founded in 2000 by architects with many years of collective experience and a passion for design and the creative process, Laguarda.Low is an international practice that has evolved over the years to meet the specific practice needs and those of the world market. In our 18 years of practice, we have worked on more than 500 projects in more than 25 countries in Europe, Asia, and South America, as well as in the United States. Our principal office is located in Manhattan with branch offices in Beijing, China and Tokyo, Japan.
Candidates for this position will identify and engage initially with prospective clients, conduct the necessary discovery and coordinate with the principals the subsequent pursuit of new clients. This role will include answering RFPs, developing proposals, and facilitating presentations to prospective clients. Candidates must exhibit a professional attitude and demeanor, a clear vision and innovative approach, a keen interest in solving clients’ needs and a willingness to collaborate, while being able to work independently. Candidates should be highly motivated self-starters with excellent communication skills.

– Create opportunities that target Commercial Real Estate Developers
– Promote Laguarda.Low Architects as value-added proposition
– Conduct discovery to uncover the interests, needs and critical success factors of potential clients
– Create and maintain a clear communicative relationship with potential prospects throughout the marketing process
– Represent Laguarda.Low Architects in industry-based community, regional and national organizations.
– Education, Skills and Experience:
Degree in architecture, construction management or a B.A in Sales/Marketing related field.
Experience within the professional service industry (architecture industry preferred).
Previous experience with business development and client management.
Strong verbal and social skills with the ability to communicate from an informed design perspective directly with clients.
Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively.
Must be willing and receptive to training and personal development.
